Nuugaatsiaq is the most remote settlement of the Uumannaq Ice Fjord, located at the entrance to the Umiamako Glacier, the most rapidly melted in Greenland. The settlement has only about 70 inhabitants; Many houses are abandoned, as people have moved away, to the southern colonies. People do not have washing machines in the village in the community house. They often dry their clothes out when there is wind.
