I was born in Slovenia in 1987. As a child, I dreamed of becoming a photographer for National Geographic. Then I forgot everything about it. I studied management at the Faculty of Economics in Ljubljana before moving to London to study photography. I graduated with a degree in photojournalism and documentary photography from the London College of Communication in 2011. Since then I have worked as a freelance independent photographer. In 2013, I received the Leica Oskar Barnack Award for a photo story entitled Waiting to Move. The same year, I was also a laureate of Photo Folio Review at the Rencontres d'Arles, for my photo report On Thin Ice, which also won MAGNUM 30 under 30 in 2015. I work as a contributing photographer for National Geographic Magazine since 2014. So much for childhood dreams never naive.
