Photographs

Biologist and geologist by training, naturalist and passionate photographer, I travel season after season the Alps, Jura and Bugey, or various more distant lands, looking for new images of wild forests, lakes and mountains, wildlife and flora, still preserved from the accelerated banalisation of the environment and landscapes ... Photographing is not simply recording and reproducing reality, it is also, in my opinion, sublimating and interpreting it in an artistic way , by a framing and a focal that stimulates the imagination and surprises the eyes. So I use especially the very wide angle (12 mm) that magnifies the foreground, and breathes the image, or long focal lengths (200 mm and more) that can isolate a remarkable detail and focus attention . I work primarily with full-size Nikon material. The BIOSPHOTO agency sells most of my images, since 1991 ...

I published Glénat's "Les Métamorphoses de l'Alpe", a book that illustrates the perpetual transformations of mountain landscapes during the seasons (Passy Mountain Picture Book Grand Prix). Several times finalist at the Asferico, WPY, etc. competitions.

I expose my portfolios on my website: jean-philippe-delobelle.com
