THE WORLD THAT CAN NOT EXIST "I have a long-time passion for physics, astrophysics, mathematics, as well as for their philosophical analyzes. Not that I understand the workings - I leave that to those who know how to enlighten us - but I still drink their fascinating beauty. More than ever, these areas of research are the key to understanding the Universe in which we travel, going so far as to question our own Existence, that of Time or the place of Chance, to mention only those sanctuaries in which we live. senseless riches. Everything is a matter of measurement and restraint when we set foot on a new planet. It is lugubrious, immense and terribly fascinating. But here certainties suddenly make their way between the shoulders of propriety, as in an allegory of the first Love. When you love, you know it; no need for proof. I really felt what would be a first step on a planet barely suspecting the diversity of the universe it enjoys, before raising its modesty curtain. The emotion is as exhilarating as it is dizzying, just as it is a carrier of values whose universality is inaccessible to us, so much we are unable to think otherwise than through self-expression. I almost want to give it a name, to dress it with souvenirs or to write my name in what seems to be sand, the only testimony of my passing here. My footprints being authentic, I will be satisfied. Wanting to keep this planet safe from our good old curiosity, I will call it and give it no coordinates. I leave, pretending I have not seen anything, and will say nothing to anyone. I trod a foot stroke of love and keep what my mind wants to imagine in all its utopias the most liberated, with nostalgia befitting a pious encounter. Sigh amused, because it is at that moment, when you let your imagination abuse the joys of independence, that the World catches up with you to make sure that you have to keep your feet on Earth. I do not ask for more, but ... "This photograph was made in Mono Lake, California in winter 2016.
